Target Field Bag Policy Details

The bag policy for regular season games includes the type of bag used and bag size restriction. Security staff will check the bags coming into the park. Single-compartment bags with a maximum size of 16" x 16" x 8" are allowed. Guests can bring small clutch purses, single-compartment tote bags, fanny packs, and bags with a drawstring, diaper bags, clear bags, single-compartment soft-sided coolers, and bags containing medically necessary items (must be for legitimate medical purposes).

Bags not allowed into Target Field include multi-compartment laptop bags, those that are too big, hard-sided containers, and duffel bags. As you'd expect, it's recommended you don't come with a bag so that you can speed up entry into the park.

There is some on-site bag storage, but it's first come first serve. This is why we stress booking luggage storage with us as soon as you get Twins tickets.

Target Field Has Additional Policies and Rules

The bag regulations are the one you'll probably be most concerned with, but there are other rules and restrictions in terms of what's allowed into Target Field. Twins fans will speed up the entry process by knowing these policies. So let's take a look.

Target Field Food and Beverage Policy

When it comes to outside food and drinks, there are some things to keep in mind. The only outside beverages permitted are sealed bottled water, no bigger than 32 oz., milk containers or soft-sided single juice containers for kids.

If you want to bring food, it is also allowed but it can't be stored in hard-sided containers. The food you bring on game days also needs to fit under your seat in a soft-sided container. Your own food cannot be eaten in the restaurants inside.

You may want to purchase food at the concession stands instead, as this is easier.

Target Field Camera Policy

Taking pictures at Twins games is also allowed, as long as you're not using a professional camera. You also can't use a multi-compartment camera bag. Guests aren't allowed to use monopods or tripods.

Guests Attending with Kids

Visiting Target Field with very young children or even older kids may seem stressful but the stadium goes out of its way to make it a great experience. They offer such family-friendly features as kids' meals at the concession stand, baby changing tables in family restrooms, child care bags are allowed in, and nursing rooms.

Getting to Target Field

If you have plans of driving to Target Field, you're going to want to look into preferred game day parking. You can reserve and pay for the spot in advance, and it's available at the Hawthorne Ramp and ramps A, B, and C.

Public transportation is another option, as there is a light rail station and the Northstar Train station outside the stadium. You can also use the Metro Blue Line and Green Line.

General Rules and Restrictions

In terms of prohibited items, there are a few more to add. You can also check with the guest service centers in advance if you have questions.

Prohibited items include:

  • Weapons
  • Hard-sided coolers
  • Laser pointers
  • Lawn chairs
  • Beach balls
  • Noise making devices

All Target Field gates open one hour before the scheduled first pitch/game time for the Minnesota Twins. So you want to give yourself enough time to get through security, but not arrive too early. Make sure you've got your valid ticket with you.

Don't Let the Target Field Bag Restrictions Stand in the Way of a Good Time

Sure, it's a good idea to learn about the bag restrictions and enhanced security measures before heading to the game, but remember, we are here to help and that means taking the stress off you and where to store your bags. If you get to Target Field and are still unsure of the policies, just head to the nearest guest service center to get their help.
