Detroit has all kinds of iconic attractions but the one you don't want to skip is the Little Caesars Arena. This is the home of the NHL Detroit Red Wings, not only a popular team but one of the original six teams. The history isn't lost on locals and you can bet they feel pretty passionate about their team. But that's not the only team that calls the Little Caesar's Arena home, it also hosts the NBA's Detroit Pistons.

To make this venue even more attractive the Little Caesar's Arena is conveniently located in downtown Detroit. It's accessible from all areas of the city, and there are plenty of attractions nearby. The arena was opened in 2017 and even though the budget ballooned out of control during construction, guests are now treated to a premier experience.

If sports aren't your thing, the arena also regularly hosts concerts. Some of the biggest names in the industry have performed here like Aerosmith, The Eagles, Paul McCartney, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Elton John, and Cher.

Little Caesars Arena Bag Policy

The bag policy is pretty restrictive, and event staff strongly encourage guests to arrive light without any bags. If you do need to bring a bag only single-compartment bags, wallets, and clutches smaller than 4 x 6 x 1.5 inches are permitted. This means backpacks, oversized bags, purses, multi-pocketed wallets, and clutches are prohibited. Whatever item you bring in also needs to be strapless and have no handle.

There are some exceptions to the bag policy, which are diaper bags and medical bags that include items such as insulin, oxygen, breast pumps, and Epi-pens. If you're bringing in one of these bags, they can't exceed 14 x 14 x 6 inches. You also have to use the Comerica Entry NE or the Meijer Entry NW since bags must be x-rayed during security screening.

All guests entering the arena will also need to walk through a metal detector and a handheld wand may be used.

If you have questions about the no-bag policy or exceptions, it's best to contact the guest services office in advance. The strict policy was designed to create a more seamless entry process that is quick and easy for guests.
